She has an Irish passport but has spent most of her life in New Zealand until coming to England in 2003.

the family catering business.
The last time she did any dancing before Feet First was 10 years ago and that was ballet.

When asked what attracted her to Appalachian dancing - "was it the lively music?" or "the infectious percussive dance rythms?" - Shannon considered this, apparently unable to decide between these two options. Finally she admitted she had never heard of Appalachian dancing ever before and only came along because her friend Sarah got her tipsy and told her she had to.

Luckily Shannon now says she loves it so we're all hoping she'll stay with us.
